WHY I WANTED TO BECOME A SLT

 For my undergraduate course, I studied Psychology, Political Studies and Science with Children Studies, in the National University of Galway, Ireland. With this BA connect programme I was given the opportunity to undergo placement. I chose to undergo mine in a special education school. It was the experience of this placement that led me onto the passionate and purposeful path of working with individuals with additional needs which I did for over two years before returning to studies.

For me to be able to assist in any way for people with additional needs will always for me be a worthwhile and fulfilling career. From being involved with the voluntary organisation Childline, I understand the importance and the right of every individual to have a voice/or to be able to express themselves in a way that meets their needs.
